LISA M. ATKINSON
A member of the Coach in Training (CIT) Development
Team and CIT Counselor, Lisa M. Atkinson, is a successful
and renowned fitness trainer, who brings a wealth
of experience and expertise to her role with Fitness
by Phone®. Lisa was 2005 FBP Coach Leader of
the Year and is an ACE faculty member.
Lisa’s distinguished career began after receiving a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science/Sports Medicine from the University of Massachusetts in 1992. She has since been certified as a Medical Exercise Specialist with the American Academy of Health, Fitness and Rehabilitation Professionals, a Personal Trainer with the International Fitness Professionals Associations, and she is also recognized as an Elite Personal Fitness Trainer by IDEA.
After working in several health clubs as personal trainer, aerobic instructor, program manager, and general manager, Lisa began her personal training business, A Better Way to Fitness, in 2000. Lisa joined the Association of Fitness by Phone® Coaches as a Master Fitness by Phone® Coach at the end of 2002.
Since that time, Lisa has dedicated her business to working with Post-Rehab clients, specifically Diabetics, to use exercise as a way to better manage their conditions. She has become a Master Fitness by Phone® Coach Trainer in 2004 and has trained many of our current coaches. In April of 2005, Lisa became a Coach-In-Training Counselor and is now helping to share the vision and experience of being a Fitness by Phone® Coach with other fitness professionals. In August 2007, Lisa was named the Chief Operating Officer for the Association of Fitness by Phone® Coaches.
Lisa has two children, Cassandra age 4, and
Jacob, age 2, and loves being able to work from
home and be with her family while still working
in the industry that she loves.
